Interactive Workshop of Europe

Open up spaces for intercultural youth work...

The “Interactive Workshop of Europe” , a two-step training about methods of intercultural learning, took part in Hohensolms/Germany, in June 1st-10th, 2009.

The basic module was based on the "open space" principle: It aimed at actively involving participants in the planning and implementation of workshops (like gender, theatre or conflict management) supporting intercultural competencies in youth work. During a one-day conference equal opportunities to participate in European youth encounters as well as current challenges of everyday interculturalism have been discussed. This project involving 27 participants / experts from five countries (D / F / IT / PL / A) has been funded with about 11.500 Euro by the support of the European Commission.

The advanced module was a intercultural training on new media pedagogy. Guided by two experts, the participants experienced the use of media technologies (photography, video making, sound, internet). A particular reflection was dedicated to media competencies and the transfer of the chosen methods on European youth encounters. This project involving 11 participants / experts from four countries (D / F / IT / PL) has been funded with about 4.500 Euro by the support of the European Commission.
